Lines I Never Need to Hear in a Movie Again
1. Two men standing glaring face to face with tense drawn expressions.
One may says to the other,
"You have no idea what I'm capable of."
2. A woman is leaning close over the body of comatose figure in a hospital bed.
The woman says to the patient,
"I don't know if you can hear me..."
Please, Hollywood. Cut. It. Out.
Comments
We were at Fatburger last night, and one of their posters says "We're not for everyone" -- I think that's the important thing about literature. Because of the distrubtion model, it doesn't have to be "for everyone" to be wildly successful. But look at movies? They are required to have mass appeal.
Sadly, to have "mass appeal" you have to appeal to what I call the "stupidest common denominator."
Woman stabs intruder who actually turns out to be her son.
Father turns to the woman and says,
"Oh my god. What have you done?"
